Candle Care

Welcome to Luxury Ember's Candle Care Guide! We want to ensure that you enjoy your candles to the fullest and safely. Follow these simple tips to make the most of your candle experience:

1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). This helps prevent excessive smoking, soot, and uneven burning. Trim the wick each time you light your candle.

2. The First Burn: When you first light your candle, allow it to burn long enough to create a full melt pool of wax across the entire surface. This usually takes about 2-3 hours, depending on the size of the candle. It prevents "tunneling" and ensures an even burn throughout the candle's life.

3. Keep it Even: Always keep your candle on a level, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, children, and pets. Uneven surfaces can cause the candle to tilt and burn unevenly.

4. Burn Responsibly: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish it when you leave the room, and make sure it's completely out before going to bed.

5. Avoid Drafts: Drafts can cause candles to burn unevenly and lead to smoking. Keep windows and doors closed when burning candles indoors.

6. Snuff it Out: Instead of blowing out your candle, use a candle snuffer or lid to extinguish it. Blowing it out can create smoke and cause the wick to move, potentially causing uneven burning.

7. Maintain a Clean Wick: Remove any debris or burnt wick pieces from the candle before relighting it. A clean wick ensures a cleaner burn.

8. Safe Distance: Keep candles at least 3 inches (7.5 cm) apart from each other. Burning multiple candles too closely can create excessive heat and cause uneven burning.

9. Store Properly: When not in use, store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Sunlight can fade colors and cause candles to soften.

10. Enjoy Scents Safely: If you have allergies or sensitivities, be cautious when burning highly fragranced candles. Always test a new fragrance in a well-ventilated area before burning it for an extended period.

11. When to Say Goodbye: Stop using your candle when there is approximately 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) of wax left at the bottom. Burning a candle beyond this point can be a fire hazard.

By following these simple guidelines, you can enjoy a safe and delightful candle experience. We hope you find our candles bring warmth and ambiance to your space. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you for choosing Luxury Ember!
